Quite a few ways.
Firstly Curate is purely peer to peer, no 3rd parties.
Secondly, we are an app not a website
Thirdly, we have our own eco-system, data and handle all payments in-house, this allows us to offer zero gas when users buy/sell using $XCUR
Fourthly, we are not subjected to 3rd parites, contracts or resellers. We don’t do fullfilment and our business model is proven through the comission model giving us healthy margins without be reliant on our token price.
I always say, we’re an app first. The token $XCUR was built around the app, not the other way around

When I created the smart contract, I left an oversight in the original code by not renouncing ownership, this would have allowed the owner (me) to blacklist addresses from selling the token and pause the contract.
Once this was brought to my attention, I revoked ownership using the original keys which permanently removed my ability to pause the contract and blacklist any addresses.

Our original token CUR8 was in large parts distributed to partnering projects through token swaps, but some partners broke contract by selling their tokens on decentralized exchanges before an official listing which created an unfair situation where original investors paid much more for their tokens than those who obtained them on the ‘black market’.
Our new token, XCUR (created in April 2020) fixed this by redistributing the the tokens more fairly excluding those who broke the agreement.

I took the opportunity to upgrade the token contract at the same time; lowering supply from 100M to 10M tokens and adding a burn function. We burnt 15% of the supply in December 2020 and plan to burn each year until 50% of the original supply remains resulting in 5M XCUR total supply.
As a result of creating the new token and redistributing to existing holders excluding those who broke the agreement, FUD articles and tweets surfaced from those same token swap projects who rightfully so did not receive the new token.
Since April 2020, we moved forward with developing our app and brand, however time to time, some would reference these FUD articles/tweets asking for an explanation, which is why I’ve created this article so it’s officially on the the record and easy for me to link to.
One thing I regret not doing at the time was creating an article like this to highlight our reasons, also it would have saved me a lot of time from having to explain the same thing again and again.
One thing, I will maintain, is that I’ve always been transparent, kept my DMs open, never blocked any of those partner projects (who actually scammed us in truth).
This is because I’m the founder and CEO of Curate and my reputation lives or dies with Curate.
